We are currently awaiting further guidance on amateur theatre and when we can resume rehearsals and performances. In the mean time all current members are welcome to take part in our weekly online workshop sessions.

As soon as we are able, it is our hope to resume work on our current production.

Hey Everyone!

I've been beavering away to incorporate the new dates for the Christmas show into the rehearsal schedule. Please have a look and let me know if there are any dates that you are unavailable as soon as possible. I'm sure you'll notice that I have put a few Sunday rehearsals in. It's very important that you attend as many of the rehearsals that you have been called for as there is very little time to go back over scenes and dances. If you let me know any dates that you are unavailable as soon as possible I will do my best to accommodate.

I'm very excited to be starting and I'll see you all this week.

Hi all,

Just wanted to update you all now that we are getting close to starting rehearsals.

1) A couple of the cast have an issue with the proposed dates as they are involved in a dance show. Would anybody have any issues if we change the dates to Friday 13th & Saturday 14th December?

2) Our original director has unfortunately had to rescind their offer to direct. Instead I will take the lead, along with Dorothy to make sure that the show goes ahead. There may be some rehearsals that are taken by somebody else as I am already committed to rehearsals for a different play. This will have no affect whatsoever on the performance. It just means that you may see different people at rehearsal.

Please let me know if you have any issues or concerns. I will send out a rehearsal schedule on Friday (with the dates of performance listed) and then put the tickets up for sale. Either way the first rehearsal will be Friday 4th October.

Wow! You all absolutely rocked and made our jobs so much harder than I ever thought possible. It has been just over a year since I was last in the audition room and I have to say you were all amazing. I cannot believe how the standard has improved. Keep up all the hard work that you have been doing.

Due to the constraints of the stage, backstage area we have had to limit the number of performers for our pantomime this year. As always, we will be having our annual Christmas show, which includes a children’s performance. It is very important that both the Christmas show and the Pantomime are huge successes and fantastic shows, so we have worked very hard to ensure that both casts are comprised of EQUAL TALENT.

It's your chance to get involved with our January 2020 pantomime Frosted! Don't worry if you missed the meeting, you can find all the details in the link below.

You’ll probably be familiar with the storyline, given it’s affinity to a certain film with a vaguely similar title, but it’s been given the full pantomime treatment.

The story tells the tale of two Princesses as one struggles to come to terms with the magical powers she has been given.

Auditions will be Sunday 2nd June from 1:00pm.

So what are you going to do with that ?

Well let me tell you.

We are are the stage crew and with just a few screws, and some other odds and bods, we can :-

  - Fly you to other planets or on a magic carpet
  - Whisk you to exotic locations
  - Take you down a rabbit hole or through a wardrobe.

We are the engineers who bring your shows to life.

So how does it work ?

Well it all starts with a meeting with the producer.

After they explain what they would like from the show we calm them down and explain to them that this isn't The London Palladium or Hollywood.

We can generally arrive at a suitable compromise; and being honest there isn't a lot we say no to.

We have built rockets that fly, doors that can shrink and grow, revolving walls, flying carpets and space shuttles.

We all have our different take on any given ideas of course and we after a bit of discussion can usually arrive on a plan of action.

So how do we start ?

Location is easy with the help of some very talented artists our front and back...

The King's Remembrancer's Memoranda Roll of Easter 1262 notes the pardoning of the prior of Sandleford for seizing without warrant the chattels of one William Robehod, fugitive. This case can be cross-referenced with the roll of the Justices in Eyre in Berkshire in 1261, in which a criminal gang is outlawed, including William son of Robert le Fevere, whose chattels were seized without warrant by the prior of Sandleford.

There are numerous cases in the C13th & C14th of outlaws deliberately taking on the pseudonyms of Robin Hood and Little John...

This William son of Robert and William Robehod were certainly one and the same, and some clerk during transcription had changed the name. It follows that the man who changed the name knew of the legend and equated the name of Robin Hood with outlawry.

This is merely the earliest of several such references to Robehods or Robynhods, most of them outlaws, after the mid-C13th, and it provides a useful terminus ante quem for the existence of the legend...

OUT OF FOCUS Casting call:

Thursday 11th April 7:30pm

Performances Weds 18, Fri 20, Sat 21st Spetmeber 2019

An unfortunate over-booking of the Church Hall results in a gathering of a wonderful mix of local characters, ranging from Evonne, the nervous Vicar's wife, to Leonard, a man intent on delivering a talk on steam locomotives to anyone who will listen! Eventually they all unite to produce a pantomime but, as rehearsals proceed, alliances are forged and switched as the opening night looms. Events culminate backstage after the final performance

Firstly I just want to congratulate all of the children on an absolutely outstanding series of auditions. They made our job incredibly difficult and it took a long time to build what we believe will be an incredible cast.

Anyone of them could have taken any of the parts but the casting committee had to think very carefully about who could play opposite who and which small teams would make the best groups.

We're very excited to be starting rehearsal on  Wednesday 3rd April.
